Coventry City centre half Ben Turner may represent Wales at Under-21 level.

The centre-half, who played for the England Under-19s in 2007, qualifies through his grandparents.

Turner, 21, told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: “I got asked in the pre-season whether I’d consider it and I said I’d consider it.

“The manager, Mr Flynn, said he’d come and meet me but that hasn’t actually happened so I’m not really sure.”

Turner added: “If I played for Wales I wouldn’t want to dwell in the Under-21s. I’d want to kick on and get into that squad.”
