Spotify has released new research that identifies the emotions caused by certain tracks, with David Guetta’s ‘Bad’ closely associated to anger.

Working alongside Jacob Jolij, a Cognitive Psychology and Neuroscience expert, Spotify identified ‘Bad’ (pictured above) as the most effective track to cause the feeling of anger.

This is because anger is apparently associated with “up-tempo”, minor key songs with a “strong rhythm”, as used in his track. Judging by the video, he might have even been aware of this.

While Guetta’s track seems to channel negative energy, Avicii’s country/dance music crossover ‘Wake Me Up’ is closely linked to excitement.

Jolij explains: “The hormones present in the body when we are described as being ‘excited’ – such as adrenalin and endorphins – mean that excited people crave music that is positive, usually in a major key, yet more up-tempo and with a stronger beat than your typical ‘happy’ song.”
