Geordie Torr

Geordie Torr has been the editor of Geographical since 2006, having started as the magazine’s deputy editor in 2002. His writing career began while he was studying for a PhD in zoology at James Cook University in Townsville, Queensland, with a long-running series of pieces for Nature Australia, the Australian Museum’s magazine. This led to a job on Australian Geographic, where he worked for three years before moving to the UK. He has travelled to more than 40 countries, and his articles and photographs have appeared in numerous newspapers, magazines and books. He’s also the author of a book on Australian pythons.
